A Bottle of Vine

This set of cards are all variations on a theme using the A Bottle of Vine stamp set by Honey Doo Crafts combined with sentiments from the Just the One stamp set and Wine and Grapes stamp set.

I started by stamping the images and sentiments onto white card using Onyx Black Ink and heat embossing using clear embossing powder. I then coloured the images using the ColourTint by Spectrum Noir Pencils painted over with water to blend. I used Deep Mauve for the grapes and a mix of Leaf Green and Olive for the leaves. I spent a couple of hours on the sofa cutting out and shaping the elements in front of the TV before starting to assemble the cards.

I like batch making cards in this way as once I am surrounded with lots of beautiful elements and background papers I find that my crafting inspiration just flows as I assemble card after card.

For the first card I used the Brick Wall Stencil and applied Milled Lavender Distress Ink with a blending sponge to the corners. Distress Inks are not as forgiving as Distress Oxides so I tend to build up the colour gently dabbing it first onto my craft mat. The layer behind the die cut frame was coloured using Milled Lavender Distress Ink  and Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink. These two colours are one of my favourite combinations as they remind me of the colours that we had at our wedding and tone well with the ColourTint pencils used to colour the images.

I then assembled the layers using Tacky glue on the frame and 3d foam to give some depth before attaching the grapes, leaves and wine glasses with Silicone glue to give them some dimension.

The second card was made in the same way as the first altering the layers and using the wine bottle and glass from the A Bottle of Vine set. The sentiment from the Just the One stamp set is edged using Milled Lavender Distress Ink.

The third card was made in the same way as the first altering the layers and using the grapes, leaves and glass from the A Bottle of Vine set. The sentiment from the Just the One stamp set and edged in Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink with Milled Lavender Distress Ink in the centre.

The fourth card was made in the same way as the first altering the layers and using the grapes, leaves, bottle and glass from the A Bottle of Vine set. I used Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink to colour the horizontal strip and edged the sentiment from the Wine and Grapes Stamp set in Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink with Milled Lavender Distress Ink in the centre.

The final card of this post card was made in the same way as the first altering the layers and using the bottle and glass from the A Bottle of Vine set. I stamped the bunch of grapes using Milled Lavender Distress Ink onto the card blank, coloured the leaves using Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink with water and the grapes with a little Milled Lavender Distress Ink. I used Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink to colour the sentiment from the Just for One Stamp set with Milled Lavender Distress Ink in the centre.
