Heat Embossing

Sue Wilson Lavish Hexagons

Inspired by all of the beautiful cards made with these Sue Wilson dies on Pinterest and Facebook I added them to my birthday wish list and couldn’t wait to play with them when I opened them on my birthday. This card has a more traditional monotone colour scheme accented with glitter card and vellum flowers. I started by die cutting the hexagon dies from white card and layering them onto…

Butterflies Flight Vellum Overlay Cards

Inspired by the beautiful Honey Doo Crafts Design Team cards that were on display at last week’s Honey Doo Crafts workshop I decided to have a play with my new Butterflies Flight stamp and made some vellum overlay cards whilst watching the football yesterday afternoon. I started by stamping the Butterflies Flight stamp using Smokey Gray Versafine ink onto white card (approximately 6 1/2″ square) and heat embossed the images…

Honey Doo Crafts Workshop June 2018

I thought that I would share photos of the cards that I made at the June Honey Doo Crafts workshop on Friday. In addition to making some beautiful cards it also gave me the opportunity to catch up with Amanda, Kay and Martin from Honey Doo Crafts.  They are such a friendly team and work hard to ensure that every attendee gets the most out of the workshop no matter…

Steel Magnolia

I thought that I would share two birthday cards using the Steel Magnolia stamp set from Honey Doo Crafts demonstrating some Distress Oxide techniques. I stamped the Magnolia stamp onto a square of white card using Versamark ink and silver heat embossing powder in opposite corners and stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of white card. I then painted the images with Pebeo Drawing Gum and allowed them to dry…

Wine and Grapes

These cards use the Wine and Grapes stamp set by Honey Doo Crafts combined with their Vintage sentiment stamp and the A Bottle of Vine stamp set which was featured in my previous post. As with the A Bottle of Vine cards I started by stamping the images and sentiments onto white card using Onyx Black Ink and heat embossing using clear embossing powder. I then coloured the images using…

Forget-Me-Knot

This beautiful Forget-Me-Knot stamp set is perfect not only for birthday cards with it’s beautiful Happy Birthday sentiment but also thinking of you cards or for just because cards. As with many of my cards I started by batch stamping the feature image multiple times on white card with the Versafine Smokey Gray ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. For the butterfly version I mixed the White Opal,…

Butterflies and Flowers Corner

This card started as a messy experiment with Distress Oxides, a water spray and Pixie Power which turned into a very beautiful card with what my husband calls a “cosmic background”. I started by splodging Wilted Violet and Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink Pads onto a non-porous craft mat, spritzed with a water spray and then dipped 2 sheets of white card into the inky puddles. If you are not…

A Path to Somewhere

The A Path to Somewhere stamp by Honey Doo Crafts is perfect for those difficult cards such as Thinking of You, Sympathy or birthday cards for people who enjoy walking. I started each card by stamping the A Path to Somewhere Stamp onto white card using Smokey Gray Versafine ink and clear embossing powder. I then coloured the images using Aqua Markers scribbled onto a non porous craft mat and…

Cards for Men – Sheds

I am sure that I am not the only card maker who find making cards for men difficult so I thought that I would share these shed cards that I have made using the Lili of the Valley In the Shed stamp and some of the Autumn Morning Signature Collection by Sara Davies. I bought this stamp as an unmounted rubber  stamp from a craft fair a few years ago…

Versatile Snowdrops and Tea Cups

Like many craft bloggers I have got a backlog of card photos which have not been written up into a blog post so inspired by the snow today I thought that I would share some of the cards that I have made using the Honey Doo Crafts Snowdrops stamp set. This set is very versatile as it could be used for a wide range of occasions and does not necessarily…

Honey Doo Crafts Workshop March 2018

As you may have noticed I am a huge fan of Honey Doo Crafts and love attending their workshops. The March workshop gave me the opportunity to experiment with Distress Oxide ink pads which are my new favourite for creating backgrounds. Not only do they blend easily with a mini smoothie sponges they react with water to create interesting designs. For the vellum flower card we spritzed our blended designs…

Christmas Eve Crafting

As I had a little time to spare this afternoon I thought that I would make cards for my neighbours instead of using the shop bought cards which I had on standby. I must confess that I ran out of time and energy in the run up to Christmas this year and resorted to using shop bought cards when my cute handmade cards ran out. I decided to play with…

Card Making & Papercraft Competition – Part 2

I thought that I would share the second card that I made for the recent Cardmaking & Papercraft Competition. I assume that the fact I have not heard anything yet means that I have not been successful but I am confident that the standard of my card entries improve each year. When I was trying to develop my entries I found it inspiring looking back at previous blog posts as…

Cardmaking & Papercraft Competition – Part 1

I thought that I would share the first of the cards that I made for the recent Cardmaking & Papercraft Competition. This is a double twist easel card using 2 cards (7″x7″) folded at the corner and joined together with 2 pieces of A4 baby pink pearlescent card, trimmed to 7″ wide, for the bottom and top. I then used 2 pieces of white card (7″x7″) to make the easel…

Roses are Red (Blue)

This card was made using another beautiful stamp from Honey Doo Crafts, called Roses are Red, which I have coloured a lovely shade of pastel blue using mica powders, also from Honey Doo, and combined it with with my favourite Script stamp. I started by stamping and heat embossing the Roses are Red image onto the stamping card using a Smokey Grey Versafine ink and clear embossing powder five times…

Rose Trellis & Aqua Markers

As I have already mentioned, I am loving the Aqua Markers that I got for my birthday and today I thought that I would try some detailed colouring with them. This Rose Trellis stamp from Honey Doo Crafts makes a beautiful repeatable background image allowing the Friendship Quotes stamp to take centre stage. I started by stamping and heat embossing the Rose Trellis stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink and…
