This beautiful Forget-Me-Knot stamp set is perfect not only for birthday cards with it’s beautiful Happy Birthday sentiment but also thinking of you cards or for just because cards.

As with many of my cards I started by batch stamping the feature image multiple times on white card with the Versafine Smokey Gray ink and heat embossing with clear embossing powder. For the butterfly version I mixed the White Opal, Raspberry Ripple and Lime Zest Mica Powders with water to form paints and painted the edges of the bottom image, the full image for the first layer and the flowers for the top layers. Once they were dry I trimmed the partially painted image to a square then cut out and shaped the full image and flower layers using a craft knife to get into the fiddly bits.  The full image and flowers were then layered with silicone glue to give them dimension.

I also used the Raspberry Ripple Mica paint to colour the edges of the mats. andI blended around the edge of the white layers using dry Raspberry Ripple Mica Powder and a dry blending sponge to tint it a subtle pink colour. The Happy Birthday stamp is included in the Forget-Me-Knot set and was stamped then heat embossed in the same way as the focal image.

The butterflies were stamped using the Butterfly Border Stamp with Versamark ink and heat embossed with the beautiful Sparkling Crystal embossing powder onto some scraps of 160gsm vellum. I use 160 gsm vellum as it does not warp when heat embossed if you keep it in the air when heating and it can be shaped to create curved wings. I them cut them out, folded them in half and shaped the wings.

The background of the card was stencilled through the Floral Display stencil using Pickled Raspberry and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink Pads and a blending sponge. Once all of the layers were dry I assembled card using 3d foam, wrapped the card with white organza ribbon tied with a  bow,  then added gems to the centres of the flowers, butterflies and corners using tacky glue. As a finishing touch I coloured the ring using a gold gel pen.

The focal image of the second card was coloured using the Antique Linen, Bundled Sage and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink Pads which I spodged onto a non-porous craft mat and painted using a paint brush with some water. You can alter the intensity of the colour by adding more water if you would prefer a more colour washed look and can paint over the colours once they are dry if you want a more intense look. I then cut out and layered the image in the same way as the first card then blended a little Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink around the edge.

I also stamped and heat embossed the focal image on the corner of the card blank and coloured using the Distress Oxide Inks.

The largest mat was coloured by blending Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink around the edges with a blending sponge then spritzing with a water spray containing a pinch of Honeycomb Mica Powder. This multi-tone mica powder gives a lovely pearlescent sheen which is not very visible on the photo but looks lovely in real life and the water reacts with the Distress Oxide ink giving a lovely pattern.

Once the layers were dry the card was then assembled using 3d foam and purple card larers. The flowers were finished with small gems and the ring coloured with a gold gel pen.

The final card is a variation of the second card as I coloured it in the same way with the Distress Oxide inks and layered as above. Then once it was dry I spritzed it with water and sprinkled Purple Violet Pixie and Straw Yellow Pixie Powders. Once it was dry I layered the image onto white card and gold mirri card finishing the flowers with small gems and colouring the ring with a gold gel pen.
