As you may have noticed I am a huge fan of Honey Doo Crafts and love attending their workshops.
The March workshop gave me the opportunity to experiment with Distress Oxide ink pads which are my new favourite for creating backgrounds. Not only do they blend easily with a mini smoothie sponges they react with water to create interesting designs. For the vellum flower card we spritzed our blended designs with a mica powder water spray and for the snowdrop card spritzed splodges of Distress Oxides with water on a craft mat then picked up the colour on a piece of white card. Inspired by the workshop I now have invested in an extensive collection of Distress Oxide ink pads to play with.
The workshop also reminded me how many beautiful backgrounds you can create with some white card, ink pads and beautiful stamps. I have lot track of how many times I have searched through drawers and drawers of patterned papers for that perfect shade to suit a project when I could have made my own. The same goes for ribbon and vellum flowers as they both can be colour tinted to perfectly match a project.
