I thought that I would post something a little different today as these New Baby card and Big Brother cards use a mix of die cuts, papers, stickers and toppers instead of my usual stamping.
Both cards started with the step card die and some white card. Many people make step cards without the use of a die but I find it easier as I don’t have to remember any measurements and which lines to cut and score.
For the New Baby card I covered the front panels of the card with this beautiful blue check paper from the Phil Martin Sentimentally Yours Frosted Essentials 8″ x 8″ Paper Pad then die cut pierced rectangles and sentiment from the stone beige paper from the same pad. I put some wide double sided tape onto the back of my paper before die cutting the sentiment as it simply peels off and avoids the need to apply glue which can get quite messy with intricate die cuts. You could also use a double sided adhesive sheet but they can be more expensive.
I completed the card by attaching the stone beige panels using 3d foam and added the baby stickers which I have had in my stash for years.
Whenever a new baby arrives with an older sibling I like to make them a big brother or big sister card as they can feel jealous or left out when everyone is making a fuss of the new arrival. For the Big Brother card I matted and layered papers from the Phil Martin Sentimentally Yours Frosted Essentials 8″ x 8″ Paper Pad before attaching the boat topper with silicone glue and the small buttons with tacky glue. I then added the letter stickers alternating the colour.
