Versatile Snowdrops and Tea Cups

Like many craft bloggers I have got a backlog of card photos which have not been written up into a blog post so inspired by the snow today I thought that I would share some of the cards that I have made using the Honey Doo Crafts Snowdrops stamp set. This set is very versatile as it could be used for a wide range of occasions and does not necessarily have to be in the traditional white. I have combined the snowdrops with the tea cups from the Honey Doo Crafts Time for Tea stamp set which is another versatile stamp as it can be used as a tea cup stack or just the bottom tea cup filled with flowers.

All of the focal point images are stamped using Onyx Black Versafine ink and embossed using clear embossing powder then coloured using Aqua Mark pens scribbled onto a craft mat and applied with a wet paintbrush. The green shading was applied using the Aqua Marker and glycerine technique explained in the Time Flies and Aqua Markers post.

To put the snowdrops into the tea cup I stamped, heat embossed and coloured the snowdrops and tea cup separately then cut them out. You have to imagine where the back of the tea cup is and cut a curve from the tea cup above. I shaped the teacup and snowdrops then cut a slit using my craft knife to insert the snowdrops and used silicone glue to hold the shaping of the cup.

The purple flowers and cup were coloured using a Seedless Preserves Distress Ink pad again splodged onto my craft mat and applied using a wet paintbrush. I stamped the small flowers from the Blooming Great stamp set using the Distress Ink and the leaves using the Aqua Marker pens. I then used a wet paintbrush to drag the colour from the lines into the flower heads.
